“It was absolutely amazing - great people, yoga, weather, the place itself, food and location. I loved the easy going vibe that naturally evolved and felt absolutely no pressure at all to do anything if you didn't want to!”

Imagine a backdrop with the mighty Atlantic Ocean crashing on the shore + the awesome Cliffs of Moher rising from the depths. Imagine an ancient landscape bathed in history + folklore, where music and story weave its magic in daily life. Imagine a spectacular coastline with long sandy beaches + country lanes lined with crumbling stone walls with grass growing in the centre. A place where warmth of heart + wildness of spirit is in the people, the land + the air. Imagine coming to a place so far away, so different +  so unique +yet feeling so completely at home.

Your Host and Guides

Meet Rae

Rae is back for the fourth time to host the Cliffs of Moher retreat. As a stråla yoga + meditation guide, she will be guiding your experience throughout the week.

With over 20 years experience + 500 hours of training, Rae believes that healing is rooted in feeling + that small shifts have the biggest impact. Her guidance encourages you to slow down, listen to your body, observe how you’re feeling + explore what you can do to honor those feelings.

Meet Denis

Denis is delighted to be joining Rae for the fourth time on retreat in the healing wilds of County Clare. A native of Northern Ireland, Denis has been guiding yoga for almost ten years. Initially he trained and worked as a massage therapist and found yoga as a means to balance his energy during this time as well as help support his healing through trauma.

Denis will lead you through slow, introspective, meditative practices that encourage stillness, restfulness and deep healing on your escape to the West of Ireland.

special guest musicians.

  • david geraghty.

David Geraghty is a member of SCGI (Screen Writers Guild of Ireland). He is also a five time Choice Music Prize-nominated multi-instrumentalist composer + song-writer.

He is a founding member of Bell X1 who have released seven studio albums to date. Bell X1 are festival + arena headliners in their native Ireland playing to ever growing numbers on their regular North American + European tours. He has released two solo albums under his own name with a third + fourth under the moniker Join Me in the Pines.

In the last few years David has been composing music for film and television, including the Oscar nominated short “The Crush” + “You’re Ugly Too” – Mark Noonan’s debut fiction feature which was selected for the 2015 Berlinale.

Later projects such as The Vasectomy Doctor won at The Richard Harris International Film Festival / Still Voices Short Film Festival / Offline Film Festival / IFI Stranger Than Fiction Festival / Dingle International Film Festival to name but a few.

David composes + records in his home studio "The Numbers Station”

  • mark mccausland

mark mccausland doesn’t consider himself a singer/songwriter, yet for 20 years he’s been writing songs + singing them around the world.

he doesn’t consider himself a writer either. yet for ten years he’s been writing a weekly semi fiction column in his local newspaper titled notes from the boneyard, + has released two books with the same name. one of these stories is the seed of an upcoming movie (the spin) with colin broderick sitting in the writer/director seat.

if mark is known at all, it is probably for being one half of the lost brothers, who have released 6 highly acclaimed albums to date. the late great arty mcGlynn used to call him “probably the best guitar player in ireland”, which isn’t bad praise coming from the actual best guitar player in ireland. (although he usually had a few guinness in him when he said that..).

mark spends much of his time on the road, not only with the lost brothers but also as a guitarist for the likes of howe gelb among others. but when recently asked what he does for a living, mark shrugged his shoulders + replied that he runs a record shop. he was talking about boneyard records, which he founded in 2016 + ran for 6 years before handing over the reigns to focus on various creative projects, like being a dad.

forever questioning his own existence, mark works from his home studio in omagh, the town he’s been trying to escape since birth.

the truth is, mark doesn’t know what or who he is. he’s still trying to work that one out. the only thing he does know is that he knows nothing, + he accepts that fact. Aal he can do in the meantime is express his confusement through music + words.

he also hates biogs yet this biog was written by mark mccausland.

guest artist:

petria lenehan

Petria Lenehan paints abstract landscapes from her studio in rural Co. wicklow, as a way to express her deep connection to place + the natural world. She paints viscerally + each work is the result of a continuous cycle of intuitive unfolding – a repeated process of building up + softening. The works have an elusive feeling, revealing layers of past images, memories + tones that drop in + out of themselves. Her expansive gestures, sweeping movements + subtle mark making are translated through large + smaller works into an emotive visual language for the viewer to decipher.

"It truly was a magical experience."

The Food

from the The Cliffs Of Moher Retreat Center Website:

“We believe in delicious food that makes us feel great. We believe in food that leaves as little footprint as possible. We believe in food that is cooked and prepared with love, in a harmonious environment. We believe in organic. We grow our own vegetables.  We believe in local first, regional second and international after that. We believe in food that supports the community. We believe in BIG FLAVOURS. We love colours. We believe the kitchen is a blank easel where creative juices are allowed to flow with the seasons, the weather, the mood and the people creating it. We believe that food is at the heart of our retreats, that our dining room is the main place where groups all meet as one, as equals and as valued guests.

“Food is a leveller. Food is for sharing. Food is community.

We believe that the atmosphere in which we eat accounts for a lot of the experience.

We believe in homemade, handmade and happy.

We believe in simple, sensual and seasonal meals.

We believe in service and we are honoured to serve you.”
